Putting out music deliberately and making sure it's high quality is an important yet often overlooked aspect of being an artist. Kent Washington doesn't have this problem whatsoever and his latest tape Year of the Pisces is a shining example of his impressive music. From hard hitting bangers such as Chubby Kobe, Hoody Melo to... Continue Reading →
SUPERLOVE is always dropping some of the catchiest music to come out of Denver and CLIFFORD THE DOG is no exception. Complete with a bouncy, uptempo beat and solid verses from SUPERLOVE, this track is definitely worth a listen. Coming in at just 1:31 minutes, this song will have you hitting repeat over and over. Check it out below.
If there’s one thing the city of Denver isn’t short of, and that’s musical geniuses. Day after day, new artists pop up on our radar and you best believe Granola caught our attention. With an infectious melody that keeps you moving, and the wavy wordplay that brings you back to those late summer nights riding around town, Granola is someone to watch closely in 2019.
The amount of dope, undiscovered hip hop artists in Denver is getting ridiculous. Nahkeem and Forty $even are the most recent artists to catch our attention and their video for Leanin is about as dope as it gets. From the downtempo production to the impressive flows, this track shows that there is a plethora of talent in the Mile High City. The visual from Samuel Finley is just as solid as the song and fits the energy well. We'll be sure to keep an ear out for more from both Nahkeem and Forty $even and we hope you do too.
Melodic hip hop has become one of the most prominent forms of music in the past few years and there's no one doing it in Denver quite like Slouch. From catchy hooks to smooth, polished production, Slouch's sound has all the necessary ingredients to become something big, but his growth isn't complete yet. While he has already transformed his sound once (he was formerly known as P. Rose), the Mile High MC has his mind set on putting the finishes touches on his musical aesthetic in a variety of ways. Even though he may feel he has a ways to go still, the progression he has shown has been impressive already and is proof that he has the vision and work ethic it takes to reach the goals he's set for himself. The combination of these intangibles and the chemistry he has with producer slackbeatz make it feel like anything is possible for Slouch and his future is looking as bright as anyone's in the city.
Expansion and growth are integral aspects of Denver culture at the moment, and they have created a mindset that has helped grow the burgeoning hip hop scene in the Mile High City. One of the most prominent members of this freshly formed community is Ramond, a Denver native who has seen the city bend and morph into what it is today. While some people have found uncomfortability in the rapid growth, Ramond has embraced the change and is looking to bring that frontier mindset with him as he expands his sound and audience.
Everyone should get ready for Mxlcxlm Z. The Denver based MC blesses the city this past weekend with a preview of his upcoming tape Reaping SZN and the event he put on was one of the most authentic I’ve ever been to. Taking place at the Syntax Physic Opera, the listening party immediately had that home grown vibe thanks to the funky yet sophisticated atmosphere in the venue and Mxlcxlm brought that feeling to life through performances from himself and a cast of other local musicians.
Dropping music on a regular basis is no easy task but Vwillz has been showing he has some serious heat in his vault and he's been blessing us consistently with new music.
DNA Picasso has been one of our favorite rappers in Colorado for some time now and we're very excited that he's dropped a great new project with #ForTheRecord. We had the opportunity to attend DNA's listening party for the new tape and it was clear from the get-go that this was about to be some dope music.
