Sur Ellz
Combining beautifully ambient music and an extremely soothing voice, Sur Ellz has become a strong figure on the Denver scene. His music is some of the smoothest to come out of the Mile High City and the R&B influenced sound he puts out is just purely relaxing.
Myell Westcoast
The local scene in Denver has become a vibrant one thanks to artists like Myell Westcoast. His dedication to performing and recording meaningful music has helped him get noticed by a variety of artists and promoters on the scene, resulting in a growing fanbase that connects with Myell’s authentic nature. Often coming in with personal, introspective songs, Myell puts his heart into his music and it shows when he gives passionate performances at every event he attends.
Wic Jones
Denver is home to an eclectic mix of hip hop sounds and Wic Jones adds to that flavor with conscious yet catchy music. With society’s complex nature in mind, Jones speaks on many of the ills of life while keeping his message hopeful and powerful, as exampled by his project BHM: The EP. With smooth flows and excellent lyricism, things are looking up for Jones and it feels like he will be a staple on the Colorado hip hop scene for years to come.
Ransteez
While the Denver is seeing a hip hop renaissance, there are some artists who held down the scene for years before a lot of people were paying attention. RANSTEEZ is one of those artists and his persistence and consistently quality music are sure to pay off as Denver’s hip hop scene progresses. With interesting flows, hard hitting production, and energetic vocals, RANSTEEZ is an easy artist to turn up to and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue his growth.
Yxng Phiji
Hard hitting music is easy to find when you listen to YXNG PHIJI but that’s not to say he’s limited to one style. The gifted MC has demonstrated that he’s not pigeonholing himself to one sound and has found two of his biggest hits with harmonic, ear catching tracks that show his diverse skill. As Denver hip hop starts becoming more well known, PHIJI will be one of the artists to really pay attention to.
AKWA
AKWA brings some serious heat to Denver. The trap infused sound he has cultivated bleeds confidence and shows the diverse nature of Denver hip hop. AKWA drops nearly exclusively bangers and that’s not a bad thing. Everyone needs to turn up every once in a while and AKWA creates the soundtrack to your next blunt.
Sari
One of the most talented upcoming melodicists in Denver, Sari hasn’t released a lot of music but the tracks he has dropped have all been high quality. While his vocal ability is strong, the Mile High City artist has also shown he’s a skilled rapper and the diverse nature of his sound makes him a very interesting artist to listen to. It’s always exciting to see an artist grow and it looks like Sari has a promising future as he sharpens his skills.
DNA Picasso
There are some artists that you can tell are dope just by looking at them. DNA Picasso has that aesthetic on lock and he backs it up with some of Colorado’s best hip hop. With precise flows and thumping beats, DNA has shown he needs to be paid attention to as he continues growing his brand and sound. While he has the potential to be one of the state’s premier rappers, DNA still tries to grow the hip hop community and bring the rest of Colorado with him as he strives for bigger things.
IndigoAce!
IndigoAce! has been helping put Colorado hip hop on the map for a few years as a part of the group Planes 303, but he has taken his sound to the next level recently by releasing an excellent solo project. With an ear for solid production and highly interesting flows, IndigoAce! has the talent it takes to be one of the state’s most influential artists and we’re looking forward to hearing more as he continues progressing.
JT Runnin Man
High energy, catchy music is easy to find when listening to JT Runnin Man. Part of the group Planes 303, JT has been one of Denver’s most fun MCs for years and has helped keep Mile High City hip hop afloat with solid live performances and dope music. If any artist in Colorado has the talent to do big things, JT Runnin Man is that artist and songs like Movies in Japan and CATFI$H show just how much skill he has.
